課程概況：

本課程主要研究公共部門在經濟中的作用，包括外部性、公共産品、地方公共服務供給及需求、财産稅、教育政策及經濟發展政策。本課程旨在幫助學生理解現有政策并開展相關研究，課程面向公共财政與政策研究的博士生。

The primary course materials are journal articles. Most of the required readings are recent examples of high-quality empirical research in public finance and policy analysis. Students are encouraged to look at the Journal of Public Economics, National Tax Journal, Public Finance Review, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and Public Budgeting and Finance to find other articles on topics they wish to pursue.

While the course does not follow any particular textbook, some basic lecture material is taken from the textbookPublic Finance and Public Policy by Jonathan Gruber.
